I never blamed mame or mame Team because "the game is not yet emulated, they sucks." Instead, i thanks every times i play mame, Aaron giles, R.Belmont and all others mame programmer who made possible to play inaccessible games and keep alive those perls. Of course i know that mame cannot do magic. Of course i know my computer is not an Arcade cabinet and lcd is not an Arcade monitor. Of the crap old games, were there is only a "beep" every 5 seconds.sure, distortion is not percepted. I tried it before crying on this forum of course. So, are there any possibilty that the new "synchronize Audio with Video" option will appear in SDLMAME?ĮDIT: if you touch to the emulation speed, it fix the stuttering, but most of games got sound distortioned. OK, great thing and i totally agree with that policy.īut please, to MAME team, don t break things that worked before.or atleast, fix the BIG bugs that directly affect mame code. MAME want to keep clean code and no hacks/tweak to improve emulation speed. Not all improvement are bad, but as the mame team always done good job until now, can you just explain me why does they not fix a major bug that they are aware about and know that really affect mame user, mamecabs user? Would just like to clear a problem that is annoying lot of people other than me. I prefer SDLMAME because it is faster annd for the simplier gui it offer. Talking about was percepted like a lie, that there no such problem. I was a bit angry because it seemed that the stuttering problem i was PSX based).Īnd would like to try to fix this too in SDLMAME.Īny mame.ini tweak suggestion for SDLMAME? ![]() This may be enough for 99% of all games currently supported, however there are some games that change resolution more than once (i.e. Normaly MAME changes the resolution only once. That actually produces quite nasty artifacts in lower resolutions.ĬleanStretch ist a quite small hack, changing those floating point zoom back to integer zoom, eliminating zoom artifacts completly. Some may remember the "CleanStretch" option from older MAME versions.Īs of today, in Direct3D the Picture gets zoomed to fullscreen with floating point precision. ![]() This also works with games that run too fast (NeoGeo for example). However note that the sound also gets a little pitched and slowed down, although most people won't hear this at all. If Pac-Man runs with a speed of 98%, the soundbuffer playback gets slowed down to 98% also eliminating the stuttering. SoundSync changes the playback rate of the soundbuffer based on the emulations speed. Thats because of the emulation gets slowed down and there aren't enough sound samples generated. With newer MAME versions there can be problems with stuttering sound if you use vsync or tripplebuffer. Here is a user experiencing same problem.Īnd to show how their great improvement sucks there is a post of an user that build a version of mame that could fix things they do not fix. If you want the old behavior, run with -switchres and specify a -resolution parameter equal to your desktop screen size. This minimizes large graphics card transitions (in particular it does not disable glass in Vista) when you go full screen. "Experimentally changed full screen behavior when using Direct3D so that if -switchres is NOT enabled, then we don't create a fullscreen Direct3D device. Wait, this stuttering problem issues started in mame 118, and we are in MAME 122.when does they count fix it? does they ll wait MaMe 0.435 once they improved all the other crap games? "we have fixed X hundred bugs" that are totally unperceptible for 99 % of users, and most of time, fix for crappy games 30+ years old. Why?because i i said before, mame team did somes "improvements"that sucks more than improving anythings. I though that i was the only who has the problem but not! I m almost sure that those little sound bug appearing sometimes in SDLMAME is not related itself, but it is related to the great "improvements" the MAME did since 118-119 era. I reduced considerably with SDLMAME those stuttering, got instead "scratches" that appears randomly depending of the weather and the astrals positions.
